The League’s YouTube channel has released a feature on the rise of one of the brightest young Kazakh footballers of this season – Maksat Abrayev.
Back in 2017, young Maksat was one of the children leading Astana’s first-team players onto the pitch – and he was paired with club legend Marin Tomasov. Nine years later, Abraev celebrated his first goal in the Kazakhstan Premier League alongside the very same childhood idol.
But before making a name for himself in the KPL, Abrayev spent two eventful seasons in the Freedom QJ League. His legacy includes 26 goals and 16 assists in 39 matches across all competitions, the Freedom Media Cyber Cup trophy, a goal against Atlético Madrid while representing the QJL All Star team, and the “Performance of the Year” award.
