Matchweek VI of the Freedom QJ League B has concluded. Here’s a recap of the most exciting moments from the weekend.
Ulytau Misses Out on First Win of the Season – Against Yelimay
Although the club from Zhezkazgan sits at the bottom of the table, Sergey Tagiev’s team had a real chance to secure their first win of the season in Semey – Timur Yessen opened the scoring in the 79th minute. However, the ending was not joyful for Ulytau fans – in added time, Yelimay earned a penalty, and Abdrakhim Assemkhan converted it successfully.
Still, Ulytau takes a point from Semey – their second in six weeks.
Ontustik Pulls Away from Okzhetpes
The Kokshetau-based team suffered a heavy defeat, conceding four unanswered goals to Ontustik. As a result, the gap between Okzhetpes and the league leaders – the KFF Academy – is now six points, while they trail the second-placed Shymkent side by four. However, it’s only the sixth week out of eighteen – but now Evgeniy Ulshin’s team must be more cautious, especially with how tight the table is at the bottom – only two points separate third place from the second-to-last.
KFF Academy Keeps Winning
In Astana, Zhenis hosted the KFF Academy. The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a goal by Rassil Issayev. But Stuart Hall’s team equalized before halftime through Artyom Shalygin, and in the 75th minute, Argyn Zhumageldy sealed the win – 1:2.
The KFF Academy continues to lead the table with 15 out of a possible 18 points. It’s worth noting that the players of this team are two years younger than their opponents.
