The table remains tight: what to know before Matchweek 9 of Freedom QJ League W

Matchweek 9 of the Freedom QJ League W is approaching. Here's what to expect from the upcoming action.

Tobol – Shakhter

The two teams are separated by just one point, and both are struggling lately — Polyenov’s side has lost four straight games, while Kostanay's squad is on a two-match losing streak.

However, Tobol’s recent defeats came against the league’s top favorites – Kairat and Astana. Before that, they went four matches unbeaten. This game could be a chance for redemption, while the “Cinderellas” from Karaganda may jump back into the medal race with a win.

Astana – Zhetysu

The second-placed team faces winless Zhetysu once again.

Astana’s key players – Asyl Pazyl and Sofya Rybak – will look to improve their personal stats and surpass Kairat’s attackers in the scoring and assists race. Can they do it, or will Zhetysu finally stop the capital side?

Kairat – Aktobe

Aktobe is on a four-game winning streak – an impressive turnaround after losing their first four matches. Now they meet Kairat again – the first match ended in a crushing 7:1 defeat for Aktobe.

Kairat has looked dominant all season, but upsets can happen – can the visitors replicate Caspiy U17 boys' feat and take points from the top favorite?

Ordabasy – Irtysh

Irtysh lost to Ordabasy at home in Matchday 2, but currently leads their southern rivals by three points. That gap could disappear this week.

However, Ordabasy will be without key defender Milana Alidze, who was shown a red card in the previous round against Aktobe.
