The girls’ league is officially underway — the opening matchweek took place last weekend. Here are the standout stories from Matchweek 1.

A special night in Pavlodar

The girls’ league officially kicked off – and the matchday 1 opener delivered a spectacle. A crowd of 4,186 enjoyed a lively Saturday evening, with fans cheering their team on through a second-half downpour. After the final whistle, local artist Miras Zhugunusov performed for the audience.

On the pitch, Irtysh secured a confident 5–1 win. Elizaveta Medvedeva opened the scoring in the 17th minute, followed by braces from Aruzhan Ospanova and Aisana Akhmediyan.

Kairat start with a statement

The girls from Kairat put on a show against Zhetysu, winning 11–0. Three players – Darya Tsai, Milena Nikolenko, and Sofia Yagudina – netted hat-tricks, taking joint lead in the top scorer race. Zhanya Makhash and Aya Muttari added one goal each.

Asyl Pazyl shines with goal and assist

Astana defeated Tobol 2–0 at home. 14-year-old Asyl Pazyl, who topped the scoring charts in last year’s national championship for girls born in 2008–09, got off the mark early in the new season with a 31st-minute goal and an assist to Zhibek Marat in the 76th.

Notably, Tobol played the final quarter with fewer players: Zamira Abdrakhmanova was sent off in the 68th minute for denying a clear scoring opportunity, and Dina Kukil received her second yellow in the 86th for halting a dangerous attack.

The symbolic first kick of the match was taken by Kazakhstan national team defender Abzal Beisebekov and actor Ansar Ilyasov.

Confident win for Ordabasy

Last year’s national champions (U15 girls) Ordabasy returned with a refreshed squad and a strong performance. They defeated Aktobe 3–0, with goals from Diana Sitnikova (28’, 86’) and Balnur Yergeshbek (55’).
