Makridov at Atlético: how it went

The young player from Shakhter Karaganda, who was named Changan MVP of the Season last year, spent a week training at Atlético Madrid’s facilities.

The internship was part of the League’s international player development program, implemented together with Changan Kazakhstan – the official distributor of the Changan brand in Kazakhstan and part of Astana Motors.

The program included morning team sessions and evening individual training – in total, Gleb completed eight training sessions. The schedule also featured a cultural element, as the Kazakh footballer visited the iconic Metropolitano Stadium and explored the club’s museum.

Notably, after starting with Atletico Juvenil A (U-19), Makridov was quickly promoted to the Spanish club’s youth side – Atletico Madrid C.

“Training at Atlético is прежде всего an opportunity to gain international experience – to see how people train, play and develop in Spain, and how everything is organized in their daily life,” Makridov said in an interview with the League’s website.
