The head coach and captain of Kairat commented on the early championship win in the Freedom QJ League

Oksana Kokhannaya, head coach of Kairat

– We have been working towards this for a very long time. For three years we were always missing something – one point here, goal difference there. And today we finally did what we had been dreaming about.

Of course, emotions are running high, we are very happy. Thanks to the players, thanks to the opponent, and to the organizers for a good match.

– Milena Nikolenko came on and scored four goals. Did you expect that from her?

Yes, of course. Milena is one of the top scorers, she plays up front. I also want to point out that she is the youngest in the team, born in 2011. I think Milena has a great future as a forward, and yes, we expected goals from her and she delivered.

Zhaniya Makhash? She is our playmaker. In my opinion, she is one of the best playmakers in the entire League among the girls. She reads the game, provides a lot of assists, and is the leader in that regard.

I also want to thank all the girls, because they fought, battled hard, they are great.

Aya Muttari, captain of Kairat

– We are very happy, of course. Everyone is delighted, because we have been striving towards this for 3–4 years. And now, in our very first season in the League, we managed to become champions. We still have two games left, but everyone is already happy.

– Did you manage to achieve all the goals you set for yourself?

– I would say yes. First and foremost, winning the championship. We did it, so I’m most happy for the team.
