Matchweek III of Freedom QJ League B has come to an end. Here are the key highlights from the weekend's action.

KFF Academy Keeps Winning

The 2010-born boys of the KFF Academy, who initially surprised everyone by beating older opponents, proved in the third week that their first two wins were no fluke. This time, Stuart Hall’s team confidently defeated Okzhetpes 5:2. David Zarechny scored a brace, including a penalty, while Amirkhan Maratov provided two assists.

Zarechny now shares the top spot in the scoring race with Alihan Ali of Ontustik – both have four goals after three games. Notably, Ali scored 10 goals in 14 matches in the U-17 B tournament last year – the best result among players still active in the league this season.

First Point for Khan-Tengri

Another debutant in the Freedom QJ League – Khan-Tengri from Almaty – started the season with two losses but finally earned their first point in Matchweek III. Dmitry Yurkov’s side opened the scoring in their away match against Kyzylzhar in the 6th minute thanks to Timur Khvan, but in stoppage time of the first half, Madiyar Alibekov equalized from the penalty spot.

In the 72nd minute, Roman Komarovskiy put the hosts ahead. It seemed like Khan-Tengri would lose again, but in the 87th minute, the Almaty side were awarded a penalty. Abilai Mamadiyar made no mistake – 2:2.

Now, Khan-Tengri has the same number of points as Ulytau, but the club from Zhezkazgan sits higher due to a slightly better goal difference: -3 versus -4.

Ulytau Still Goalless

In the third round, Ulytau narrowly lost 0:1 away to Altay. The only goal of the match was scored by Galym Yernaruly.

As a result, matches involving Sergey Tagiev’s team remain the lowest-scoring in the tournament. Zhezkazgan’s side has yet to score a single goal, making them the only team still without a strike.

However, they have conceded just three goals – tied for second-best in the league with Yelimay. Only KFF Academy has a better defensive record, with two goals conceded.

Highest-scoring match of the round: KFF Academy – Okzhetpes (5:2).
