Evgeny Yarovenko, an expert of the Sports Analytics Unit and ambassador of Freedom QJ League, as well as the Olympic football champion of Seoul 1988, spoke about the objectives of the Sport Consulting Forum public association presented this week in Almaty.

– Of course, personal motivation, discipline, and daily self-improvement remain fundamental in elite sport. However, it is impossible to ignore that in recent decades another factor has significantly increased its importance—especially in Olympic disciplines—namely, a structured approach to talent development using advanced scientific methods.

Building a strong foundation based on cutting-edge technologies and scientific data is one of the key priorities of Freedom QJ League, outlined by our leaders, Timur Turlov and Rokhus Shokh. This is exactly why our Sports Analytics Unit exists: to systematically monitor and support both players and coaches, including through the use of digital tools.

Therefore, we fully share the ideas that form the basis of the Sport Consulting Forum. Kairat Zakiryanov has set an ambitious strategic goal—to create a modern educational and scientific sports base in the country by the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism in 2044, capable of competing with the world’s leading centers. Plans include building a large academy where athletes will live and train under the guidance of experienced specialists.

The presentation itself was excellent. I was glad to share my experience with young athletes and to meet and speak with outstanding figures—true legends in their respective sports.

It was a great honor for me to be awarded the Order of Confucius and to be elected as the honorary head of the football direction within the Sport Consulting Forum.

I will be happy to support this new organization in any way I can, and I believe these efforts will help raise new generations of Olympic champions in Kazakhstan. We are a sporting nation and have never lacked talent—the key is to create the right conditions for them.
